My first attempt at creating the pattern myself. The seal was so much fun to create! Now I have a baby blanket for the next baby boy born into our family! Tracking the pattern stitches was a challenge, but I think I now can do this easily and will have fun creating more patterns to crochet! 
My creation for the month of April 2012. Living on the coast near seal, what else would I create? I will post the entire project when done. My biggest challenge is remembering to write down the instructions as I go along so I can make another one or share the pattern some day. I used a pattern I got from a friend for Sunbonnet Girl and the blocks, but the rest was my pattern. This measures 32"x32" and is lined with pink flannel to keep that little baby girl warm on a chilly day! This inspired me to start making my own patterns to crochet ...
